Excavators & Other – Testing & Inspections

Regular inspections of excavators, mini diggers, rubber ducks and related equipment helps ensure it is ready for any job. For optimum safety and to achieve compliance with Irish and Northern Ireland safety regulations, equipment must have, among other requirements, movement alarms, motion sensors, lock valves on booms if lifting, and an audible warning if using the machines to lift (see updated regulation from 1 April 2020).

JMH Services has extensive experience inspecting, testing and certifying excavators and related equipment, such as identifying potential issues and providing advice that helps the machinery achieve compliance. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) 2007, excavators and other heavy equipment must be inspected at least once a year.

Once your machinery has been thoroughly inspected and tested, you will receive a GA1 Form, Report of Thorough Examination, certifying your machinery is in good working order and meets Irish health and safety requirements. If our inspection and testing service identifies defects, you will receive a report of what needs to be rectified before you can gain certification. All inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged on our online portal, which provides you with access anytime with a secure ID. We can discuss your report and also talk to you about compliance and safety requirements to ensure your plant machinery meets the required standards.
