PPE – Testing & Inspections

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protects employees from a range of hazards on the job. When PPE does not meet the required standard in Ireland, it puts the user at risk of severe injury or worse. According to the statutory legislation Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) 2007, PPE must be inspected and certified every six months. An inspection of your PPE considers a range of compliance requirements such as wear and tear, to ensure the PPE is fit for its intended function. Regular of PPE inspections literally can mean the difference between life and death.

JMH Services inspects, tests and certifies:

  • Safety Body Harnesses
  • Lanyards
  • Fall Arrest Equipment
  • Climbing Rope
Once your PPE equipment has been inspected and tested, you will receive a GA3 Form, Report of Thorough Examination, certifying the PPE is fit for purpose and meets Irish health and safety requirements. If our inspection and testing service identifies defects, you will receive a report of what needs to be rectified before you can gain certification. All inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged on our online portal, which provides you with access anytime with a secure ID. We can discuss your report and also talk to you about compliance and safety requirements to ensure your PPE meets the required standards.
