Inspections And Testing
If your organisation works with plant machinery lifting equipment and PPE, you have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment for your employees and others at your work site. This responsibility is also a legal requirement under Irish law and requires plant machinery and lifting equipment to undergo regular inspections and testing to achieve certification for continued use.
JMH Services inspects, tests and certifies plant machinery and lifting equipment according to:
- HSA Regulations Southern Ireland
- LOLER & PUWER Regulations UK and Northern Ireland
- GA1 – Form GA1 – Report of Thorough Examination under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007
- GA3 – Form GA3 – Inspection of Work Equipment for Working at Height under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007
Certification demonstrates compliance with The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations of 2007. We can also provide a GA1 form to certify to the standard of Northern Ireland’s Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
Inspection results and certification is uploaded to our online portal and can be retrieved using a unique ID number at any time. Renewal dates for the next inspection are also held on the online portal to ensure clients are aware of their next inspection date.

Fire Extinguisher Inspections And Supply
JMH Services provides comprehensive inspections, testing and certification for fire extinguishers to ensure they comply with Irish regulatory standards such as I.S.291-2015 and JOIFF accreditation for inspections.
Regular inspection and testing of your fire extinguishers ensures they are ready to use in an emergency and helps reduce the risk of fire-related injury or death. Proper maintenance of your fire extinguishers is essential; fire extinguishers that are not maintained properly can fail when you need them the most.
Our fire extinguisher inspection and testing service determines whether your equipment is in proper working order. The effectiveness of a fire extinguisher can be affected by a variety of factors; excessive dust and dirt can clog fire extinguishers while extreme heat or cold, moisture, or vibrations from heavy machinery can also affect a fire extinguisher’s effectiveness. Our inspection and testing service helps monitor your fire equipment, certify that it is compliant with Irish regulations, and ensure it is ready for use when you need it.
Following the inspection and testing, you will receive a record form, Report of Examination, that confirms the equipment in your possession has achieved the regulatory standards required to operate. If your equipment does have defects, you will be notified of what they are and what needs to be done to rectify the situation. All fire extinguisher inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged on our online portal, which provides you with access anytime with a secure ID.
JMH Services also sells quality and fully compliant fire extinguishers. With all your inspection, testing and certification services and fire extinguisher sales in the one place, we make it easy for you to meet regulatory requirements.

Quarry Brake Testing
JMH Services provides brake testing on quarry plant and equipment, including loading shovels and quarry dumpers. This ensures these vehicles remain safe, and compliant with statutory legislation under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) 2007.
The sheer size of quarry vehicles can cause serious injury and damage if their brakes fail unexpectedly, particularly if they cannot come to safe stop or if they are unable to safely park or drive on an incline. The unforgiving nature of the quarry environment can be tough on brakes, particularly when turning circles or negotiating tight bends.
JMH Services provides comprehensive brake inspection and testing services to ensure your vehicle operates as safely as possible. Brake inspection and testing is crucial to safety as it can reduce the risk of accidents due to poor brake performance.
Once the inspection and testing of your vehicle’s brakes is complete, you will receive a calibrated printout of each machine tested and a Report of Examination, certifying your quarry brakes meet the standard to operate. If inspection and testing identify defects, you will receive a report of what needs to be rectified before you can gain certification. All quarry brake inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged on our online portal, which provides you with access anytime with a secure ID. We will happily discuss your report with you and answer your questions, and can provide advice about statutory specifications which are constantly evolving to make quarry plant equipment safer.

Cranes
Worksites present a number of safety hazards and dangerous and additional precautions are required when working with cranes. Crane accidents can be particularly devastating and result in expensive damages, severe injury and even death. Crane inspections and testing are essential and required by law to ensure they are operating safely. Under Irish law, the Safety, Health and Welfare at work (General Applications) 2007, cranes must be inspected and certified annually to remain compliant, or L.O.L.E.R (lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations) for the UK and Northern Ireland.
Once the inspection and testing of your crane equipment is complete, you will receive a GA1 Form, Report of Thorough Examination, certifying your crane is compliant with Irish standards or UK standards if applicable. If inspection and testing identify defects, you will receive a report of what needs to be rectified before you can gain certification. All inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged on our online portal, which provides you with access anytime with a secure ID. We are more than happy to discuss your report and provide advice about compliance and safety requirements to ensure your crane equipment meets the required standards.
