Forklift Training

We provide comprehensive forklift training for novices and also for experienced operators. Our trainers are fully certified to deliver forklift training in accordance with Irish standards, and will show participants how to safely use a forklift, how to conduct pre-use inspections, safe operating procedures and best practice forklift use. In particular, this training demonstrates how to operate a forklift safely around other people and buildings.

Our forklift training programs provide participants with the competencies required to operate forklifts. The programs provide certification for novices and experienced operators who require refresher training to ensure they maintain the required approach to forklift safety.

To participate in the training, participants must:

  • Ideally be 18+ years of age
  • Be medically fit to operate machinery
  • Have their own PPE gear (boots, high vis vest)
  • Have a good understanding of English

Telehandler

JMH Services delivers telehandler training for novices and experienced operators. A telehandler, also known as a telescopic handler, is a mobile lifting machine that comprises a telescopic boom and lifting attachment. Telehandlers differ to forklifts because they telescope with the load and raise and lower have a number of attachments that are able to accommodate a variety of loads, including an earth shifting bucket, working platform and lifting jib. Telehandler operators must be qualified and hold certification to operate this machinery on a worksite.

Our telehandler training programs provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to operate telehandlers safely in workplaces, farms, delivery yards and so forth. The programs provide certification for novices and experienced operators who require refresher training to ensure they maintain the required approach to worksite safety. Participants will learn about pre-inspection use, operating procedures and best practice machinery use, alongside load charts, load characteristics, attachments, safe operation, transportation, reporting procedures, and shut down and post-operation reviews.

On successful completion of the training program, participants will receive a three-year JMH certificate and card.

Gantry Training

Gantry cranes are overhead cranes that are generally used for outdoor applications or work completed under bridge crane systems. JMH Services provides gantry training for novices and also for experienced operators who require a refresher in gantry operation.

Our training programs provide participants with the competencies required to safely and effective use gantry cranes. Participants will learn how to obtain, read, view, explain and confirm job specifications, and how to determine and fix possible hazards and environmental concerns, as well as put in place control steps for safe operation. Participants will also learn about what personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for gantry work, and will cover pre-use inspections, crane operation, lifting and slinging techniques, lift equipment selection, and shutdown protocols in accordance with safety standards. Our experienced trainers will demonstrate how to raise, switch and lower loads, how to examine the gantry crane for flaws before use, and how to identify hazards and covers routine operational maintenance, lubrication and cleaning duties which help to maintain a safer work environment.

MEWP Training (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)

JMH Services provides comprehensive Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) at your work site for equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts. Our MEWP training programs cover a range of topics including pre-use inspections, safety rules and regulations, stability-related factors, identifying hazards, and how to operate the equipment safely.
